Katherine is a clinical social worker, a parent, and an advocate who is dedicated to increasing community capacity for children’s mental health. She values intergenerational approaches, and appreciates partnering with parents, educators and other helping professionals to make progress in childhood mental health.
Katherine has completed a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology), Bachelor of Social Work, Master of Education (Curriculum & Instruction) and a Master of Social Work. She has specialized training in child and youth mental health, and Child & Family Forensics (Wiliam James College, Boston).
She has worked across both private and public sectors across several areas of practice, including community mental health, child welfare, domestic violence, and family supports. She has designed social programs for provincial government, addressing issues like high-risk domestic/intimate partner violence and care resources for children/youth with complex needs. She founded, owned and operated a private family services agency for 6 years, that employed over 250 staff and reached across the province. She has volunteered for causes that are important to her, including domestic violence shelters and international anti-human-trafficking organizations.
When she’s not working, she’ll be spending quality time with her children and spouse. She enjoys hands-on hobbies like painting, drawing, digital art, and woodworking.
